Meet the Staff
From Boston Massachusetts is Deborah Shligersky, an enthusiastic and accomplished Dance and Music Instructor. Deborah is a cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with degrees in voice and education. She holds a Dance Teacher Training of America Certificate and is a licensed ZUMBA®, ZUMBA GOLD®, Zumba Toning® and ZUMBATOMIC® instructor.
Deborah is no stranger to the performing arts. She has been dancing for over 30 years and was a featured singer, dancer, and section leader for an award-winning show choir. She sang in Boston Symphony Hall in the highly competitive Massachusetts Allstate choir, played the leading role of Rosie in Bye, Bye Birdie, and was the music director of an a capella choir.She has been to dance conferences in Las Vegas and New York City where she learns more and more about the dance industry. She is so excited to start Dance Amore’s 15th year!!
Erin has been with Dance Amore for 14 years. She is studying education. Her love for dance and kids really shows in her teaching. She has been dancing since she was five and never stopped since then. Her gift for learning is infinite and she can’t wait to see what Miss Deb has in store for her. Not only does she help Miss Deb but she teaches her own classes and works in the office. She is so excited to start up this year and can’t wait to meet all of her students!
Miss Helene aka Miss Deb’s proud mom is honored to be part of the Dance Amore teaching team and to be back in the “classroom.” In addition to teaching public school French and Spanish for over thirty years, Miss Helene is a former adjunct professor teaching two original courses at Northeastern University after receiving her Master’s Degree in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University.
Sharon joined the Dance Amore Family 8 years ago. Prior to teaching at Dance Amore, she taught at Kathy’s Dance Dynamics for 18 years. This is where she trained from the time she was little until she graduated from high school. During her dance years, Sharon competed at a variety of dance competitions and took classes at several conventions.
Sharon teaches competition classes at Dance Amore. She truly enjoys watching her students grow as dancers, individuals, and as a team. Her recent choreography awards have been received at Revolution Talent, That’s Entertainment, Spirit of Dance Awards and Work It Dance Challenge.
Sharon has been a school counselor at East Windsor High School for the past 20 years. She also choreographed show choir at Windsor Locks High School for 14 years. Sharon is grateful for her supportive husband, Joel, and is the proud Mom of Nora and Evan.
